Production Supervisor - Night Shift

About this Role: The Production Supervisor oversees and is accountable for the safe, efficient, and timely execution of daily production demands at our Cicero manufacturing plant. This hands-on role is expected to lead, mentor, and guide a team of hourly operators and leads across all Production functions. This means actively engaging, leading, and growing a front line workforce each day. While they are considered the process and product experts in their area, they also serve as Manager On Duty from time to time and will also be expected to learn the supervisory accountabilities of related functions within the manufacturing plant.
The shift for this role will be 11 PM - 8 AM, Monday - Friday. Location of our production facility is 5370 S Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL
What You’ll Do:
- Leads, manages and engages Production team, including frontline team
- Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace - physical safety, emotional safety and food safety
- Makes and communicates daily decisions that have bottom-line business implications
- Manage employee performance and progressive disciplinary process for team members, including and up to terminations
- Plans and allocates resources (people, equipment, tools) for Production execution
- Ensures that team members have proper tools and training to accomplish their duties safely and efficiently.
- Builds and maintains systems that allow Supervisors to manage daily tasks and execution
- Acts as a cross-functional partner and leader
- Acts as manager on duty for the manufacturing plant when the manager is not onsite
- Collaborates with peers in other manufacturing departments (Warehouse/Inventory, QFS, Facilities, Production, Planning/Procurement) to ensure teams are working well together throughout the facility
- Enforce company policies, GMPs and food safety protocols
- Continuously improves processes and practices within Production
Who You Are:
- 3-5 years experience leading teams in a food manufacturing or related setting.
- Basic Google/Microsoft Suite Skills (Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations)
- ERP/WMS
- Knowledge of food safety and GMP standards preferred.
- Can effectively translate company goals into simple directives for front line employees
- Can connect frontline barriers to targets and effectively escalate to management
- Spanish competency preferred
The base salary range for this role is $73,000-$80,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for company performance-based bonuses and equity.
