Chicago, IL

Channel Management
Senior Manager/Supervisor

Farmer’s Fridge makes fruits and vegetables accessible and approachable for everyone. We offer a variety of fresh, healthy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks through our fresh food vending machines, wholesale partners, and our office pantry solution — providing chef-curated meals to customers within seconds. Today, we operate a network of Fridges and partner with clients nationwide in high-foot-traffic areas, such as airports, hospitals, universities, and large office buildings — where there is limited accessibility to fresh, healthy, grab-n-go options.

We care deeply about what we’re creating and aspire to make sure our customers feel that through every touchpoint. This shows up in many ways across the business. We are committed to prioritizing food safety, we are passionate about product quality, we value our employees, we champion the best idea no matter where it comes from, and we’re committed to making an overall positive impact as we scale.

About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll define and execute category strategies that deliver on financial goals while delighting customers. This is a high-ownership role where you’ll treat your category like a business, setting the strategy, delivering the financials, and pushing boundaries to drive both growth and margin improvement.

You’re a self-motivated problem solver who’s comfortable rolling up your sleeves, learning through iteration, and combining intuitive decision-making with thoughtful analysis to move the business forward. As the company’s category authority, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams and collaborate with external grocery and big-box customers to shape assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies that unlock outsized value and long-term growth.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own your category like a business. Set the vision, define strategy, and take full accountability for revenue and gross margin outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities and risks by living in the data and category, blending customer insights, financial analysis, and market signals.
  • Build scorecards, forecasts, and scenarios to monitor performance and connect category outcomes to company-wide goals.
  • Serve as the category authority internally and externally, partnering with BU leaders, Sales, Marketing, and Account Management to embed strategies, and with Grocery/Big Box partners to shape assortment, pricing, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising to optimize shelf space in the Fridge channel and align with retail buyers on assortment, placement, and promotional strategies that maximize sales and margin.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to identify and capture margin opportunities across SKU portfolio.
  • Invent and scale playbooks. Design new ways of working, pilot them, and roll out best practices across the org.
  • Foster accountability and results by rallying teams around clear goals and measurable outcomes.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in category management, commercial strategy, buying/planning, finance, or consulting within CPG or retail (Grocery / Big-Box preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel/Tableau proficiency; experienced in building models, tools, and processes from scratch and adapting them to scale.
  • Ability to balance big-picture strategy with detail orientation
  • Experience thriving in high-growth, fast-paced, or transformation environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills able to cut through complexity, frame the right questions, and drive to actionable answers.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to deliver gross margin results
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Bonus Points...

  • Experience in account management bridging CPG and retail, including embedding category strategies into customer joint business plans

Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $140,000 - 148,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for company performance-based bonuses and equity.

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (multiple plans available)
  • 401(k) with immediate employer match vesting
