Production Planner
Farmer’s Fridge makes fruits and vegetables accessible and approachable for everyone. We offer a variety of fresh, healthy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks through our fresh food vending machines, wholesale partners, and our office pantry solution — providing chef-curated meals to customers within seconds. Today, we operate a network of Fridges and partner with clients nationwide in high-foot-traffic areas, such as airports, hospitals, universities, and large office buildings — where there is limited accessibility to fresh, healthy, grab-n-go options.
We care deeply about what we’re creating and aspire to make sure our customers feel that through every touchpoint. This shows up in many ways across the business. We are committed to prioritizing food safety, we are passionate about product quality, we value our employees, we champion the best idea no matter where it comes from, and we’re committed to making an overall positive impact as we scale.
About this Role:
As a Production Planner, you will play a critical role in effectively planning, scheduling, and managing the movement of raw materials used in our production processes to meet customer demand. This position is heavily cross-functional, and you will work with teams across the company to finalize production totals from our various sales channels, generate reports that will drive production activities throughout our manufacturing operation, and champion continuous improvement through operational process analysis and waste reduction initiatives.
What You’ll Do…
- Work closely with the Demand Planning team to verify all orders have been entered into our internal order management system, and work with these teams to ensure production totals are balanced throughout the week.
- Use our internal production planning tool to create daily production plan reports required by all floor teams (processing, assembly, inventory, warehouse, and pick pack) to execute their daily responsibilities.
- Manage the production planning tool to ensure all recipes are up to date with current yields, portioning, and recipe adjustments. Verify that all logic flows across various critical documents to keep our operations up and running.
- Serve as a critical contributor to our cost reduction efforts by surfacing high waste processes, understanding root causes, and proposing process improvements to the production management team using lean manufacturing principles.
- Establish a close working relationship with the Production Manager and Procurement teams to ensure all planned production is fulfilled from a material and labor standpoint.
- Work with our Menu Innovation team to input new menu items into the production planner and design the process flows of any new ingredients and sub-recipes through our processing and assembly rooms.
- Create weekly reports (planned vs. actual material usage, standard cost tracker) that will be used in company-wide presentations and help drive improvements across manufacturing operations.
Who You Are…
- A BA/BS is required, with a preference for a STEM or manufacturing degree.
- A minimum of 1-2 years in a production planning, data analysis, or equivalent role is required and knowledge of a fresh food environment is preferred.
- Must have strong proficiency in advanced Excel, with the ability to design pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, grouped documents, charts, etc.
- Deep understanding of Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
- Must have a good foundational understanding of business operations, preferably with experience partnering with demand planning, production, warehouse, procurement, and inventory management to execute on effective plan design, adherence, and iteration.
- Must be able to demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset to drive efficiency and identify and eliminate redundancy and recurring errors.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are critical for this role.
- Must have effective attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy.
