We offer a variety of fresh, healthy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks through our fresh food vending machines, wholesale partners, and our office pantry solution — providing chef-curated meals to customers within seconds. Today, we operate a network of Fridges and partner with clients nationwide in high-foot-traffic areas, such as airports, hospitals, universities, and large office buildings — where there is limited accessibility to fresh, healthy, grab-n-go options.

About this Role:

As the Controller at Farmer's Fridge, you'll lead the charge in maintaining our financial integrity and ensuring compliance through timely closings, GAAP-compliant financial statements, and variance analyses. You'll drive efficient cash management, implement processes, tools, and controls, and navigate regulatory landscapes while identifying and communicating the accounting implications of business decisions. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite, you view accounting as a value-add function and will champion initiatives to make it happen. Your visionary leadership extends to owning relationships with service providers and developing a high-performing team, making this role a key contributor to Farmer's Fridge's financial success. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, including publishing GAAP-compliant financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide meaningful and actionable variance analysis to finance and senior leadership. Collaborate with the FP&A team to understand performance drivers and forecast future performance 
  • Forecast and manage all cash balances and accounts, including working capital processes that support effective cash management 
  • Implement and maintain stage-appropriate processes, tools, and controls. Drive efficiency of the accounting team as Farmer’s Fridge grows 
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including GAAP and local, state, and federal tax filings, and prepare for proposed future regulations 
  • Identify and communicate accounting implications of business decisions
  • Own all service provider relationships (audit, tax, commercial banking, etc)
  • Hire, develop, and manage a high-performing team who understands how they contribute to the success of Farmer’s Fridge

Who You Are

  • 10-15+ years of experience, including leading accounting teams through high-growth 
  • CPA required
  • Manufacturing experience preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite. Experience with Sage Intacct preferred but not required
  • Excellent communicator with people of all levels and functions. You distill performance insight and technical accounting concepts into plain English
  • You see accounting as a value add function and have a vision for making it happen
  • Curious - you love to learn from anyone of any level. You ask a lot of questions and listen 
  • Persistent - if you don’t understand something, you don’t stop until you do 
  • Detail-oriented with a bias toward action - you care about the accuracy but make progress over perfection
